The Civil Police of Goiás arrested, this Monday (28), a doctor, a personal trainer and two other people for illegally selling weight loss medication in Goiânia.
According to authorities, the products were brought from England by two of the arrested suspects who passed the products on to the doctor. The professional then sold weight loss medications with the personal trainer. Both were not authorized to sell the medication.
After being interrogated, those investigated stated that the merchandise was brought from abroad monthly.
This month alone, 50 boxes of the product came from England. Only 11 of them were located by the police and seized, as the majority of the merchandise had already been sold illegally.
The sales were made at a value well below market value, according to the police. After being arrested, the suspects were sent to the prison system and must answer for the crime of importing and selling medicines without health registration.
