THE patient was admitted to the hospital of Klaipeda, in the Baltic, as he complained of acute pains in the abdomen, transmits the APE-MPE.

His doctors did an X-ray and soon discovered that there were various metal objects in his stomach, some of which were up to 10 cm long, so that his life was in danger.

“During the operation lasting 3 hours (…), all foreign bodies, even the smallest ones, were removed from the patient’s stomach,” said surgeon Saronas Dailintenas.

The hospital released a photo of the screws and nails found in the patient’s stomach.

“We have never seen anything like it before.” said Algirdas Slepavitsius, chief surgeon at Klaipeda Hospital.

According to him, the man started swallowing metal objects in the last few weeks after he stopped drinking.

His state of health is stable, the doctor added.
