Doctors rule out new surgery, but Bolsonaro is not expected to be discharged

The intestinal obstruction for which President Jair Bolsonaro has been hospitalized in São Paulo at the Vila Nova Star Hospital, since dawn on Monday (3), has disappeared.

In a note released on Tuesday (4), the medical team ruled out the need to perform surgery, but there is still no forecast for hospital discharge.

“The clinical and laboratory evolution of the patient remains satisfactory and a liquid diet will be started today,” the bulletin reported.

On Monday night (3), the doctors had already informed that Bolsonaro showed improvement after passing a nasogastric tube.

According to the hospital, Bolsonaro did not have fever and abdominal pain. The president took a short walk through the corridors and remained in clinical treatment.

The surgeon Antônio Macedo declared, also on Monday, in a statement to CNN, who believed that it was not necessary to submit Bolsonaro to surgery.

Macedo, who has been serving the president since the 2018 knife attack, explained that he would only be sure of this initial assessment when he made a complete diagnosis in Bolsonaro.

The doctor arrived at Hospital Vila Nova Star around 06:10 this Tuesday (4).
