A Santos shirt autographed by Pelé, a guitar signed by the duo Chitãozinho and Xororó and serigraphs by Eduardo Kobra and Beatriz Milhazes are among the 97 pieces in the charity auction to be held this Monday (22) by the international organization Médicos Sem Fronteiras.
All the proceeds will be donated to the organization’s humanitarian aid projects, which were created by doctors and journalists in France and will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year.
This is the organization’s first charity auction. All the pieces were donated by famous people and institutions and include paintings, wines, jewelry and many other items, which will be divided into 80 lots with a minimum bid starting at R$500.
To bid and participate, you must register on the James Lisboa auction site. The auction is available from 20 hours.
Fundraising Director Leanne Neale celebrates the donations. “It was very gratifying to see the engagement of people, who donated not just an article, but something that had sentimental value for them. There is a very large variety, which will please different audiences”, he says.
In 2020, the NGO operated in nearly 90 countries and, in Brazil alone, Doctors Without Borders was present in 12 states to help fight Covid-19. 30 years ago, the NGO carried out the first project in the country.
