The first teaser for the documentary series was released this Tuesday (9).Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Children's TV ”, which premieres on April 16th in Brazil. Watch below.
In four episodes, the series presents the public with accounts of situations that occurred over the years, with allegations of abuse, racism, sexism and other inappropriate behavior .
Exclusive stories are also told about the presence of child predators on the sets of series aimed at children, with children and teenagers in the cast.
The reports involve people who worked with writer, producer and director Dan Schneider on Nickelodeon .
Among them are former cast members, their families, and teams from well-known series such as “Tudo Em Cima (All That)”, “Zoey 101”, “iCarly” and “Brilhante Victória (Victorious)”.
One of the reports is from American actor Drake Bell, now 37 years old. He claims to have been a victim of abuse during the recording of “Drake & Josh ”.
The interviews, complemented with archive images (some of which have never been broadcast), scenes from TV shows and comments from social media, seek to contextualize many moments from these series.
The series is directed by Mary Robertson and Emma Schwartz, and produced by Maxine Productions and Sony Pictures Television – Nonfiction in association with Business Insider. The series will be available on Max, HBO's streaming platform. In an interview with DanWarp, published on YouTube, Dan Schneider says he is sorry and promises to take responsibility for the way he acted.
Even before the series premiered, the Nickelodeon shared a position with the CNN International .
