A five-year-old border collie, Jax, was saved from a severe case of chronic cough when his owners noticed he was no longer “singing” to Shania Twain’s songs. Jax, who loves to scream along to his favorite tracks, suddenly stopped making a sound and started coughing loudly. Jax’s owner, Ellana Farrow, became concerned and took him to Northwest Veterinary Specialists (NWVS) in Sutton Weaver, Cheshire. There, a CT scan revealed that Jax had inhaled a 5cm long seed, which had become lodged in his lungs. Vets performed a bronchoscopy, a procedure that involves using a tiny camera on the end of a flexible tube, to remove the seed from inside Jax.
