The Ibovespa advanced in its first trades this Friday (9), in the face of a positive scenario abroad, with local attention turned to the interview of president-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in a few minutes in which he is expected to announce some ministers who will compose his government, including that of the Treasury.
At 10:50 am (Brasília time), the Ibovespa rose 0.22%, to 107,486.94 points. The index was down 4.1% for the week.
At the same time, the dollar in sight advanced 0.94%, to R$ 5.265 in the sale.
The name of the former mayor of São Paulo Fernando Haddad is taken for granted for the Treasury. Haddad, who coordinates the transition economics working group, said this morning that he will not announce the economic team on Friday.
The market still kept the ECB in the focus, while digesting lower-than-expected inflation data for November, on the day of Brazil’s World Cup match, at 12:00 am, which should reduce liquidity.
