Domna Michailidou: Our priority is to improve the quality of life of citizens from end to end throughout the country

The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, responsible for Welfare and Social Solidarity, Domna Michailidou, paid a two-day visit to Methana and Troizinia. Mrs. Michailidou had the opportunity to discuss with organizations, but also residents of the area, about all the issues that concern them, with the aim of improving their daily lives.

During the first day of her tour, the deputy minister, accompanied by the mayor, Spyros Pollali, visited the Port Authority and the Police Department of Methana. There, he was informed about the needs of the security forces, but also about the necessary initiatives aimed at further strengthening the services.

Later, at KDAP Methanon, during the discussion that Mrs. Michailidou had with the workers and management, she emphasized the important role played by KDAP and KDAPmeA in local communities.

On the same day, as stated in an announcement by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the Deputy Minister attended the event organized by the Diocese of Hydra, Spetses, Aegina, Ermionides and Troizinia, for the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor disaster and addressed a short greeting.

Mrs. Michailidou stated: “There is no greater tribute and recognition of the efforts of the uprooted than to build in this place, in their second homeland, an optimistic and hopeful future for their grandchildren and all the generations to come. The greatest honor and vindication of the uprooted is our current effort to keep the place strong, to preserve its character and make it a model of balanced and sustainable development!”.

During the second day of her visit, the deputy minister in the meeting she had with the mayor, Spyros Pollali and the deputy mayors, was thoroughly informed about all the current issues that concern the region and about the needs of the local community.

Mrs. Michailidou also visited the Galata police station, the Troizinia fire station, and the nursery school in the area, where she was given a tour of the area and discussed with the employees and representatives of the administration about the value of pre-school education and its importance later on development of children.

Finally, the deputy minister also visited the village of Kalloni, where she spoke with the residents and heard their problems. Mrs. Michailidou was also accompanied in her meetings by Maria Mellou, Deputy Mayor of Social Affairs, Spyros Lesiotis, Deputy Mayor of Methanone, George Anastasiadis, Deputy Mayor of Street Lighting, Sotiris Souchlas, Deputy Mayor of Finance, Anastasia Magira, Deputy Mayor of Cleanliness, Athanasios Danos, President Troizina Community, Konstantinos Litsas, municipal councilor responsible for water supply issues, Evangelos Gerasimos, president of Galata community and Georgios Mylonopoulos, president of Dryopi Community.

At the same time, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Domna Michailidou, underlined: “Our priority is to improve the quality of life of citizens from end to end throughout the country. That is why, in practice, we support the work of the local authorities, so that everyone together to preserve, but also to strengthen the extroversion of our country. As a State, we do everything we can to constantly strengthen the daily life of all our fellow citizens”.
