Don Matteo 13: the grand finale will reveal the secrets of Don Massimo

We feared that the passing of the baton would irreparably damage the fiction, but the entry of Raoul Bova’s Don Massimo in place of Terence Hill’s Don Matteo – which, however, continues to give the series its name – was well received both by the public and by the critics, pleased to see the commitment of the screenwriters in the construction of a not obvious character who, on the occasion of the grand finale aired on Thursday 26 May in prime time on Rai1, will give viewers new twists. During the episode, titled Forgetting Matteo, In fact, Don Massimo will arouse the attention of the carabinieri who, in the light of some of his strange acquaintances, will dig into his past.

The priest, who arrived in Spoleto after Don Matteo’s farewell and laboriously managed to win the trust of Natalina and the others, in fact, he is secretly dating a woman who is closely tied to her mysterious past, giving rise to various doubts and suspicions about him and his nature. Despite everything, Marshal Cecchini, brilliantly played by Nino Frassica, does not want to jump to conclusions immediately, ready to take sides with Don Massimo to shed light on the truth.

From what we learn, the leave of Don Matteo it will be electrifying not only for the priest, but for many other characters as well. Due to a series of misunderstandings, in fact, Cecchini will have to undertake the preparations for his marriage with Elisa, while Anna’s love life is more and more like a skein impossible to untangle. After Sergio’s return, in fact, the Capitana is confused: on the one hand she opens up the possibility of building a family with him and little Ines, but on the other she is tempted to give up everything and go away with Valente. In short, the meat on the fire is so much, but to find out what will become of the subplots and, above all, how the writers will think to go on with the story without Terence Hill all that remains is to enjoy the latest episode of the fiction produced by LuxVide.
