During the episode, titled Forgetting Matteo, In fact, Don Massimo will arouse the attention of the carabinieri who, in the light of some of his strange acquaintances, will dig into his past.
The priest, who arrived in Spoleto after Don Matteo’s farewell and laboriously managed to win the trust of Natalina and the others, in fact, he is secretly dating a woman who is closely tied to her mysterious past, giving rise to various doubts and suspicions about him and his nature. Despite everything, Marshal Cecchini, brilliantly played by Nino Frassica, does not want to jump to conclusions immediately, ready to take sides with Don Massimo to shed light on the truth.

From what we learn, the leave of Don Matteo it will be electrifying not only for the priest, but for many other characters as well. Due to a series of misunderstandings, in fact, Cecchini will have to undertake the preparations for his marriage with Elisa, while Anna’s love life is more and more like a skein impossible to untangle. After Sergio’s return, in fact, the Capitana is confused: on the one hand she opens up the possibility of building a family with him and little Ines, but on the other she is tempted to give up everything and go away with Valente.
