Donald Trump chooses Mike Huckabee to be US ambassador to Israel

The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Tuesday (12) that he will nominate the former governor of the state of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, to be the US ambassador to Israel. Huckabee is an American politician affiliated with the Republican Party.

“I am pleased to announce that the highly respected former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, has been nominated as United States Ambassador to Israel,” Donald Trump said in a statement.

The Republican president-elect also praised Huckabee’s career. “Mike has been a great public servant, governor and faith leader for many years,” he added.

Donald Trump also highlighted that Mike Huckabee will play an important role in the current context of the Middle East. “He loves Israel and the people of Israel and, in the same way, the people of Israel love him. Mike will work tirelessly to bring peace to the Middle East!” he highlighted.
