US presidential candidate Donald Trump, speaking to voters in Washington, again promised to pardon Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht, and also to make the US a crypto hub if he wins the election.

Donald Trump already announced his intention to pardon Ross Ulbricht during the 2020 election campaign. Now he has also promised voters that if he wins the election, all future achievements of the digital asset industry will be inextricably linked to the United States.

“If you vote for me, then on my first day as President of the United States I will commute Ross Ulbricht’s sentence,” promised Trump.

Voters greeted his words with applause and “Free Ross” banners. Almost simultaneously, on a business card website of the same name, created to collect signatures for the “Free Ross” appeal, a thank-you note addressed to Donald Trump from Ross Ulbricht was published.

Recall that Ulbricht is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole. In 2013, he was arrested and sentenced to two life sentences for his participation in the creation of the Silk Road platform, which traded illegal drugs for cryptocurrency.

The day before, the campaign headquarters of former US President and Republican candidate Donald Trump informed voters about the start of collecting donations in crypto assets for the election campaign.
