Donbass: The first civilian train to Russia has departed

The first train carrying civilians from Donbass to Russia has left for the Voronezh region, said acting Minister of Emergency Situations Alexander Tsupriyan.

“The Russian Railways have given us trains. We have sent the first one to the Voronezh Oblast. The 500 refugees it is carrying will be housed in temporary shelters,” Tsupriyan told the Tass news agency.

According to the minister, the timetable for the evacuation of the self-proclaimed “People’s Republics” of Donetsk and Lugansk has already been drawn up. “In this way we can calculate the means and resources we will need,” he explained.

There are currently more than 7,000 people in temporary shelters in the Rostov region and all have been provided with basic necessities.

Earlier, Tsupriyan said that 26 regions of Russia are ready to host refugees from Donbass.
