Yes, the new product is on average faster than its predecessor, but at the same time power consumption has grown significantly, and the Ryzen 7 5800X still remains ahead.
However, now other results have appeared on the Web, which give hope that at least in games everything will be very good.
One of the owners of the Core i7-11700K tested it in three games, and everywhere this CPU turned out to be slightly faster than the 10-core Core i9-10900K. In the test mentioned above, we recall that the new product was sometimes inferior to its predecessor, and even more so to the Core i9-9900KS.
It is not yet clear what the reason is. Perhaps, in the new test, the system worked with a more recent BIOS, but the fact remains.
