Doria: São Paulo should make use of masks more flexible until December 1st

The governor of São Paulo, João Doria confirmed to CNN, this Wednesday (03), that the state of São Paulo should make the use of protective masks in open places more flexible between November 28th and December 1st. The information had been disclosed by communication from the Palácio dos Bandeirantes in the early afternoon of this Wednesday.

According to the governor, the release must occur when the state registers 75% of those vaccinated with a single dose or two doses. “We will be within mass immunity between November 28th and December 1st. The release will only be outdoors,” said Doria.

The governor also stated that the state currently has 69% of people with the complete vaccination schedule and assesses that the easing measures were rushed in other parts of the world, which required a retreat, but preferred not to comment on the position of states and municipalities in the Brazil that released the masks before reaching collective immunity.

“About Great Britain, it took a step back because it rushed (in making the use of masks more flexible) and regretted it,” said Doria.

The city of São Paulo had already revealed that it intends to make the use of facial protection in an open place more flexible when it completes the immunization of adults and adolescents over 12 years of age. The date to complete the vaccination cycle in adults is until the 15th. By the end of this month, the city hopes to complete the immunization of minors.
