The rule that prevented enrollment in two faculties or universities and therefore from having a double degree was in force since 1933. It hasn’t existed since the Senate approved the bill it introduces the possibility of enrolling in two different degree courses at the same timea measure that was approved in the Chamber in October 2021. Italy aligns itself with the universities of much of the rest of the world and takes a step forward in interdisciplinarity and in the creation of qualifying degrees for the professions.
What can you subscribe to
Two different degree courses, master’s degree or master’s degree, also in more universitiesschools or colleges with special organization;
Two academic diploma courses, first or second level, at the institutions of the higher education artistic, musical and dance training;
A PhD or master’s degree and a medical specialization course;
On the other hand, it is not possible to enroll simultaneously in two degree courses belonging to the same class and in the courses of medical specialization.
Rules
Within sixty days the Minister of University and Research will have to issue a decree to regulate the methods and criteria to allow simultaneous double registration. The management of the courses that can be followed, in particular those that require compulsory attendance, must be regulated.
The student can have scholarships only for one of the courses. On the other hand, both can be totally or partially exempt from university fees.
