The British actress and model Tuppence Middleton 38, revealed that he feels “very selfish as a mother with toc” because he needs to resort to rubber gloves, bleach and masks when taking care of his daughter when she is sick. The star of the “Downton Abbey” series opened her heart about her fight against Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), which she has faced as a child.
The condition, characterized by intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors, causes it to be terrified of contamination. In an interview with Daily Mail, the actress also explained that she suffers from emetophobia, intense fear of vomiting, which leads her to avoid physical contact with her two -year -old daughter when the girl is sick.
“You feel very selfish as a mother with OCD Because you want to be present, you can hug them and have their face close to you whenever they are sick. I was quite terrified as I deal with my daughter’s vomiting and wore all these things I have: rubber gloves, bleach and masks. ”
The artist fears that her daughter, the result of her relationship with director and screenwriter Swedish Mans Marlind, 58, absorbs her inconvenience.
“There is an immense fault in doing this, however, because I don’t want to pass these behaviors to her. But at the same time, this is your greatest fear, being so close to someone like that, so it’s a really complicated line of thought. ”
Tuppence, who also participated in series such as “Sense8” and “Black Mirror,” revealed that his phobia also affected his career. The star feels anxiety about interpreting romantic scenes, and repeatedly questions her scene colleagues about possible diseases.
“I asked them, even if they looked tired and pale because it was five in the morning, when we were filming, I said, ‘Are you feeling well? How are you? Are you feeling something in your stomach? ‘”
The actress has been doing therapy and feels more comfortable to talk openly about the condition.
“Now I feel more able to talk to my castmate and say, ‘I have this specific anxiety, and if you or someone in your family, or someone close to you, get a vomiting virus, please let me know, because I have great anxiety about it.’
