Dozens of immigrants seen being deported from the US to Mexico

Dozens of immigrants were deported from the United States to Mexico this Thursday (23), as witnessed by a team from CNN in Ciudad Juarez, a city on the border between the two countries.

The migrants, who appeared to be all men, were seen crossing the Paso del Norte bridge, which connects El Paso, Texas, with Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, on foot. They were escorted by Mexican immigration and security authorities.

THE CNN managed to speak with some, who said they were Mexican citizens who recently crossed illegally into the US and were caught shortly after.

“I was detained for 5 days, but they [agentes dos EUA] they treated us well,” said one of them, Sebastian Holguin Lopez.

“We were coming in and we got caught,” added Edgar Gomez from the mobile queue of deportees.

Asked what he would do next, Gomez smiled and said, “Try again.”

The group was taken to a local immigration office.

THE CNN has reached out to local authorities in Mexico for comment.
