Dozens of pink flamingos in India have been killed in a plane crash

A passenger plane killed dozens of flamingos on Monday night as it approached India's financial capital Mumbai, where it landed safely, media and wildlife activists said today. At least 36 of the large migratory birds were killed, according to the Hindustan Times newspaper, but the toll could rise, as conservationists estimate. “The community was littered with dead bird members,” BN Kumar, of the environmental group NatConnect Foundation, told the Times of India. “Broken wings, beaks and legs were scattered over a large area,” he added.
