Drag Race Italia 2, what happened in the fourth episode

“We are at the turning point, there is no room for mediocrity”: Priscilla’s words are prophetic. Drag Race Italy 2aired on November 10 on Discovery + with the fourth episode entitled Daughters of the stars, pull the strings and ideally divide the competitors into top and bottom competitors. Data in hand, the same queen has been three times between the last two of the ranking and another has won a trio of victories: it will mean something and in fact the trajectory of the program is outlined more and more clearly. Not that there is anything certain, of course, because last year it was Elecktra Bionic who won the crown, scepter and personalized collection of MAC Cosmetics, yet it never – never! – awarded a maxichallenge.

This week we talk about astral conjunctures, ascenders and cusps, but the brightest star of all is the guest judge, Alessandra Celentano. Used to giving marks among the teachers of Friends of Maria De Filippi she did not deny herself, on the contrary she confirmed accuracy and punctuality in the comments, just like during the first edition it happened for the most prepared and brilliant guest judges, Enzo Miccio (in the semifinal) and Nick Cerioni (in the third episode). Whether or not you share the opinions of the dance teacher, it also deserves a second applause for being the only guest of this edition to ask to meet the queen in the werk room. Chapeau!

The prize of the third episode

The Diamond receives, for the victory of the third episode, a trip to Istanbul worth one thousand euros offered by Eden Viaggi. Unstoppable, she continues to grind well-deserved applause.

The minichallenge – The wheel of misfortune

An astral-themed quiz conducted by Chiara Francini (spelendida in a red latex jacket over a black dress) with a wheel in style OK, the price is right with human hands. Nehellenia is ousted from Aura Eternal’s record of victories, mainly thanks to luck of the square on which it stops. It is this rainbow wedge brooch that saves her from lip synch. As a prize he also receives a small supply of skincare products from Biofficina Toscana.

The maxichallenge

Superb idea of involve the queen of the first season (only absent: Huge Jean), pity that the current competitors have almost all been swallowed up by their bursting personalities. The acting challenge is to stage an impromptu scene as a fortune teller. Aura Eternal chooses the combinations and goes with Luquisha Lubamba, absolutely hilarious (unlike her).

It is the best performance together with that of Ivana Vamp, paired (ahilei) a Gioffrè, instead in free fall: defining her behavior as a perpetual lament throughout the episode would be tantamount to paying her almost a compliment. She complained to everyone from Obama to Ivana, going through the after-runaway judgments and interrupting Alessandra Celentano in the werk room while she talked. It is not just a question of frustration at having received unedifying comments (which are all sensible by the way), nor of the inability to dialogue and confrontation, not to mention the team play (moreover with a queen who is there to help you and who has nothing to try, in terms of competition) but precisely the lack of basic education rules, essential for a civil coexistence and even more desirable in front of a camera. An examination of conscience, right?

Divinity follows suit and has also sent an assist to Nehellenia on Ghost but he fell into the void. The only one to hit the mark among the new queens was The Diamond in Madame Ananàs version, paired with Farida Kant.

Along the list of subdued, painful or boring performances: Panthera Virus created frost in the studio (“bordering on embarrassing”, in the words of Tommaso Zorzi)while Skandalove seemed totally in disarray.

The runaway – Drag Horoscope

To compensate for the results of the improvisation challenge (Priscilla defines it as “really disappointing”) a truly stellar catwalk arrives, which miraculously saves some queens, first of all Aura Eternal, to whom Priscilla again and rightly points out “the basic dress” in the runaway and to whom Alessandra Celentano gives advice on walking in heels.

Each queen stages a zodiac sign. The most spectacular? Once again that of La Diamond, a silver bull with a shining sword. As much as it is something he has already shown, he doesn’t mind Panthera Virus’s dark fetish Scorpio either. All the others deserve a “meh” effect, with Skandalove and Nehellenia in the twin-headed Gemini version. Who has seen the runaway of Willow Poll in season 14 of the mother series he knows that similar experiments cannot ignore the illustrious precedents (there is no excuse for half measures because the bar remains high). La Petite Noire a little confused in the Toro version, even if she denounces the barbarism of bullfights so it is there, while Gioffrè proposes an Aquarium full of edges and with little sense.

The word to the judges

Skandalove’s shoe-raft, which Chiara Francini defines as philological, was rejected by Tommaso Zorzi (even if the second head has the effect of “dear mother”). Too bad for Nehellenia a little “subdued”, as Zorzi notes, but moving is the memory of his father in the werk room and the claim in the confessional of the right to sadness (seems to be the living embodiment of the cartoon’s message Inside Out and he’s right to sell!). Avalanche of criticisms on Gioffrè: Priscilla pointed out to her a certain «closure» and Alessandra Celentano adds «You have to be on stage. I have not seen it in her ». Curtain.

The lip sync

Hello now: La petite noire, Skandalove and (by a miracle) Aura Eternal. The best of the week remains The Diamond (really a standing ovation!). On the notes of Jem by Cristina D’Avena challenge Panthera Virus (for the third time in four episodes) and Gioffrè at lip synch. Given the trend of the episode a double Sashay would have been deservedinstead the only one to go home is Panthera Virus.
