A dragnet resulted in a shootout between police and criminals caused panic late this Saturday morning (23), in the central region of Rio de Janeiro.
The Rio de Janeiro Military Police reported that agents from the 4th BPM (São Cristóvão) were on patrol when they saw three suspects in a car at the exit of the Rebouças Tunnel towards the city center.
According to the PM, the bandits tried to steal another vehicle and, upon seeing the police, started shooting at the officers .
A video captured the criminals’ assault. They stop traffic on the road and approach vehicles to carry out the robberies. The video shows the road stopped both above and below a bridge.
“Everything stopped, the bullet flew up there,” said a witness. Watch the video below.
At the end of the video, the suspects appear fleeing in a black vehicle.
The Military Police stated that, after the confrontation, There were no injuries and the criminals fled . Policing was reinforced in the region.
