Canadian rapper Drake 38, lost a million-dollar bet after the fight Mike Tyson 58, against Jake Paul 27, which happened in the early hours of this Saturday (16). The singer bet US$355,000 (more than R$2 million) on Tyson, who lost in the dispute.
Before the confrontation, Drake published a story on Instagram that showed that he could earn US$1,011,750 (about R$5.87 million) if Tyson won.
“I’m late, but I’m here, money on the line for today and tomorrow,” the rapper wrote in the caption.
The fight took place at AT&T Stadium, in Dallas, in the United States. Tyson’s defeat came via unanimous decision by the judges. Tyson’s last professional fight was 19 years ago, when he was defeated by Kevin McBride.
The dispute was marked by the large age difference between the opponents. Therefore, the event had specific rules: the fight had eight rounds of two minutes each.

“Drake’s Curse”
This isn’t the first time Drake has lost a million-dollar bet. In August, the rapper lost 450 thousand dollars (around R$2.4 million) after betting on the confrontation between Nigerian Israel Adesanya and South African Dricus du Plessis, during UFC 305.
The Canadian singer bet on Adesanya’s victory. To his frustration, Dricus won the fight in the fourth round and managed to keep the belt. At 30 years old, the South African is the champion of the middleweight category.
Previously, Drake has had other defeats and is therefore known as the “new Mick Jagger” in the world of sports.
