DRAM average price to drop 8-13% next quarter

DRAM average price to drop 8-13% next quarter

Analysts at TrendForce expect the average selling price of DRAM memory chips to decline by 3-8% in the current quarter, and to reach 8-13% in the first quarter of 2022. In both cases, comparison with the previous quarter is implied.

Partially resolving component shortages and reducing inventory in PC OEMs isn’t enough to offset cyclical price declines, analysts said.

The average price for PC DRAM is estimated to have declined 5-10% this quarter. For the next quarter, the price of DDR4 memory is predicted to decrease by 5-10%, and the price of DDR5 memory – by 3-8%.

Server memory, which will drop 3-8% this quarter, will drop 8-13% in Q1 2022. Exactly the same indicators are given by TrendForce experts for mobile memory.

Graphics memory, in their opinion, this quarter will fall in price by 0-5%, and in the next quarter its average selling price will remain at the same level.
