The British Prime Minister issued a dramatic warning today Boris Johnson for the growing humanitarian crisis due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. As he stressed, the number of refugees could reach millions as citizens flee their homes.
“When I spoke to (US) President Biden last night, we focused on the humanitarian emergency, which is starting now. Putin’s invasion has already forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes and will we have to prepare for an even bigger wave, maybe millions“, Said Johnson from Warsaw.
“The United Kingdom will provide up to about 263.6 million euros in emergency and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. “I have deployed 1,000 soldiers on duty to help manage the humanitarian crisis in neighboring countries, including Poland,” he was quoted as saying by Reuters and the Athens-based News Agency.
Russian President Vladimir Putin can no longer be considered a credible interlocutor, Johnson said when asked about the possibility of a compromise between Russia and Ukraine to end the conflict.
“What the whole international community has to recognize is that the result is something that the Ukrainians themselves have to want and want – they have to decide on the future of their country. “But I have to say that looking at things now, it’s difficult to see how Vladimir Putin can be considered a credible interlocutor given what he did.”
