Dream winter cruises: the next departures

Winter is coming and cruise enthusiasts are starting to plan embarkations and disembarkations to spend the whole or part of the cold season in the warmth of beaches and lagoons. For the most ambitious tourists, or even just for dreamers, we of Vanity Fair we have selected five cruises to do once in a lifetime. The destinations are heavenly: Hawaii, French Polynesia, Galapagos, Central and South America and the classic world Tour. Holidays not for everyone, but destined to make many dream.

To Hawaii with Norwegian Cruise Line

137 floating islets in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean, 4 thousand kilometers from the coast of California, immortalized in our imagination by cinema and literature. Let’s talk about Hawaii, which has always been a destination for tourists (despite the many postcard beaches, the trendiest destination remains Waikiki beach, in Honolulu), surfers (surfing is the national sport), volcanologists (almost all the islands are of volcanic origin) and anthropologists ( Hawaii is the US state with the largest collectivity of Asian Americans).

One of the best ways to visit Aloha State without thinking about logistics, food and accommodation is to board the Pride of America, Norwegian Cruise Line ship devoted only to trips to Hawaii. The next appointment is the January 22: boarding in Honolulu (island of Ohau), then Maui (island of Kahului), Hilo and Kailua (island of Hawaii) and Nawiliwili (island of Kauai). Expected return to Honolulu on January 29th. Prices for one seven night cruise depart from 5.400 euro, flights included.

In French Polynesia with Paul Gauguin Cruises

It is useless to deny it: the French Polynesia it is one of the most popular destinations for every traveler, an Eden on earth where you can bathe in transparent waters, sunbathe on silky beaches and relax on cabanas overlooking the coral reef. The extreme distance from Italy (almost 17 thousand kilometers as the crow flies) and its luxurious exoticism, however, make French Polynesia one of the most expensive destinations ever. To reduce the costs of the trip a little, it is possible to evaluate a discovery of the atolls on board cruise ships.

Two companies that today cover this route all year round: the Paul Gauguin, with his namesake ship, and Windstar Cruises with his Star Breeze, both with embarkation in Papeete and then touched on the atolls of Moorea, Bora Bora, Tahaa, Huahine, Raiatea, Rangiroa and Fakarava. The prices of the cruises, from seven to ten nights, fluctuate in a range between 5,000 and 7,000 euros, to which must be added flights, onboard expenses and excursions. The minimum budget for a cruise in French Polynesia is therefore about 78 thousand euros per person for a week.
