Drew Barrymore recalls rehabilitation at 13: “I really lost everything”

The actress Drew Barrymore 50, recalled the moment when it was admitted to a rehab clinic with only 13 years to deal with dependence on alcohol and other drugs.

She brought the subject to light after being questioned by one of the people in the audience of her show, the Drew Barrymore Show, about what was the most valuable lesson she learned after decades of career.

“Always be grateful,” replied the actress. “Everyone has good and bad times, but when I was 13, I really lost everything. By my own fault. I was never antiprofessional, but I had a really messy life and I really … No one wanted to work with me. And I understood why and took responsibility, but it was a great lesson.”

According to Barrymore, this process made her realize the value of each job opportunity.

“I think this showed me that I should take responsibility for myself and value every work that appeared to me,” he added. “I will dedicate myself to them with all my effort, because nothing is in vain; they are all bricks. And then eventually, these bricks will build a structure, which will be tangible, solid and a good base on which maybe someone else wants to be.”

“Nothing is guaranteed, nothing is right, enjoy things and work hard,” she said.
