A team made up of 22 technicians from the Minas Gerais Sanitation Company (Copasa) was sent to Rio Grande do Sul this Monday morning (6) to assist in resuming the operation of water treatment plants.
The technicians are destined for the city of Caxias do Sul and will later move to Bento Gonçalves, in Serra Gaúcha.
In addition to human aid, more than 18 thousand liters of drinking water were sent to help the population affected by the storms.
The government of Minas Gerais also sent two more aircraft to Rio Grande do Sul on Sunday (5), including a helicopter capable of night overflight.
“We, miners, are joining forces to help Rio Grande do Sul at this difficult time, especially those areas affected by the floods. We are sending two more aircraft, such as a helicopter with night vision, which will work during the night to rescue people who are in isolated areas”, said the governor, Romeu Zema (Novo).
Teams from the Minas Gerais Fire Department have been in Rio Grande do Sul since last Thursday (2).
Support from Minas to Rio Grande do Sul
Military police:
- Two helicopters to carry out rescue operations, one of which has night vision.
Fire Department:
- 28 military firefighters specialized in search and rescue in floods, floods and major disasters;
- Three rescue vehicles;
- A truck that transports various materials and logistical equipment;
- A vehicle suitable for driving two search dogs.
State Department of Health:
- An aircraft with capacity to transport up to nine passengers. The aircraft can also carry equipment and transport injured people over greater distances;
- A helicopter capable of carrying out rescues and transporting the injured.
State Civil Defense Coordination:
- Four Minas Gerais Civil Defense agents;
- 370 mattresses.
