Drones will be able to “water the cabbage” without human intervention. FAA issues first fully automated flight authorization

The situation with regulating the commercial use of drones in the United States is now quite difficult. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is still developing a set of rules, but individual companies are gradually getting some kind of licenses.

Drones will be able to

In particular, according to sources, the FAA recently approved for the first time fully automatic drone flights for commercial purposes. That is, no pilots or even simple observers are required to control drones.

The permit was issued to a small Massachusetts company, American Robotics. At the same time, drones can fly in fully automatic mode only in some rural areas at an altitude not higher than 121 meters. Another condition is that each time the pilot, who may not be in the same area with the drone, must conduct pre-flight training.

American Robotics drones are 9 kg machines. They are based on the Scout System technology, which also uses acoustic sensors to detect obstacles.
