Joey Jordison he died, victim of an illness that, in 2016, had caused his departure from music. The drummer, co-founder in 1995 of Slipknot, he died on Monday, “peacefully, in his sleep,” the family said. «His death leaves in our hearts an emptiness and an indescribable pain. Those who were close to him knew his acute intelligence, sweet personality, great heart, love for family and music. We ask friends, fans and the media to respect our desire for privacy at this difficult time, ”said Jordison’s family in a short press release, where nothing was said about the drummer’s illness.

Jordison, appena forty-six, was suffering from acute transverse myelitis, a disease that affects the spinal cord by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses that should travel along the spinal cord. He was diagnosed in 2012, four years before the drummer explained how the Slipknot mates had decided to put him on the sidelines. The group would have seen Jordison’s disease as an obstacle to their growth. So, regardless of his will, he would decide to kill him.
