The film’s soundtrack “Barbie” has just been released, according to “Rolling Stone”. “Barbie: The Album” features songs by Ava Max, Charli XCX, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, Fifty Fifty, Gayle, Haim, Ice Spice, Kali, Karol G, Khalid, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, PinkPantheress, Ryan Gosling, Tame Impala and Kid Laroi.
The album will be released on July 21st, the same day the film hits theaters worldwide. In the lead roles are Margot Robbie – as Barbie, of course – and Ryan Gosling, who will play Ken. Yes, the actor will also participate in the musical line-up, as well as in the 2017 film La La Land.
The North American magazine also says that this is not the complete list, with more artists being announced as the album’s release date approaches. The project will be executive produced by Mark Ronson, who has collaborated with artists such as Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Adele, among others.
Just this week, Dua Lipa had announced that her single for the film, “Dance the Night”, will be released on Friday (26).
Official trailer is released
In addition, a new trailer for “Barbie” was finally released today (25). Until then, Warner Bros. Pictures had shared two teasers, which hinted at the live-action story.
The video delivers several details about the plot, such as Barbie living in Barbie Land and then facing the real world. It is also possible to get a first glimpse of Dua Lipa’s music. In the scene, Barbie dances at her party, along with other Barbie’s, to the song.
“Barbie” is directed by Greta Gerwig, of “Little Women” and “Lady Bird”, and features a heavy-duty cast including Helen Mirren, Will Ferrell, Michael Cera, Issa Rae and more. The film opens on July 21.
