Dubai hosts gastronomic festival with dishes priced at R$14

Dubai receives between April 19th and May 12th the 11th edition of Dubai Food Festival , a gastronomic event that is one of the main events on the city’s calendar. The program involves Restaurant Week, masterclasses, collaborations between chefs and dishes priced at 10 Dirhams (around R$14).

Michelin-starred restaurants will participate in Restaurant Week, which takes place between April 26th and May 12th. The action offers two-course lunch menus for 125 Dirhams (around R$173) and three-course dinner menus for 250 Dirhams (around R$345).

There are 50 participating establishments. Highlights go to the one star Sudden Lathe from the chef Massimo Bottura ; for the 21 Grams urban Balkan cuisine bistro, and for the Ibn Albahr with Lebanese cuisine, both on the Bib Gourmand list.

O Jaleo by Spanish chef José Andrés, and the Carnival by Trèsind from the same chefs as the two-star Trésind Studio also participate.

Experiences and dishes to consider

One of the most anticipated actions is the “10 Dirham Dish”, which presents a selection of dishes for just 10 Dirhams (approximately R$14) in several establishments in Dubai. Keep an eye on social media and in tourism body website from the city to the list of establishments.

Other street foods can be tried at Etisalat Beach Canteen, behind Sunset Mall, in the Jumeirah Beach area, between April 19th and May 5th. The attraction serves different dishes by the sea with a program of shows and a children's area.

Finally, the festival also features Foodie Experiences, spread throughout Dubai and which range from collaborations between great chefs to dinners in special settings.

Typical recipe classes are also included, such as the masterclass at the restaurant Arabian Tea House Dubai's first Emirati food restaurant, located in the historic Al Fahidi neighborhood.

It is worth highlighting that Dubai has stood out on the global gastronomic scene with the approval of important guides and rankings, such as the Michelin Guide which held its second edition in the emirate last year, and the regional arm of 50 Best Restaurants . The latter included 18 Dubai restaurants among the 50 best in the Middle East and North Africa.
