“Dune: Part 2” wins the best review of Denis Villeneuve’s career

The first reactions of “Dune: Part 2” began to be published and the new feature film Dennis Villeneuve it received a 98% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the main aggregator of film and TV reviews. The result marks the best evaluation of a film by the Canadian filmmaker.

To date, 131 reviews have been published on the site. With 509 reviews, the first film received 83% approval from specialized critics. Until then, the best percentage was “The arrival” with 94%.

“Dune: Part 2” opens in Brazilian cinemas next Thursday (29). The film is the second chapter of Villeneuve's adaptation of the literary work of the same name.

On the big screen, the plot stars Timothée Chalamet who plays young Paul Atreides, heir to the desert planet Arrakis.

After the territory is attacked by conspirators in the first film, Paul embarks on a journey alongside Chani (Zendaya) and the Fremem – a population of Arrakis who live in the desert – to take revenge for his family and planet and try to avoid a future that only he can predict.

According to the director, the first film is “more contemplative” while Part 2 “is an epic, action-packed war film.”

In addition to Chalamet and Zendaya, names like Rebecca Ferguson , Anya Taylor-Joy , Florence Pugh It is Austin Butler make up the cast.
