Dune: Spice Wars went to early access – gamers are delighted

Yesterday, April 26, developers from the French studio Shiro Games, together with publisher Funcom, officially released their real-time strategy Dune: Spice Wars on Steam in early access. And although projects in early access usually receive very mixed ratings from the audience, this project is a striking exception to the rule – the audience highly appreciated the novelty, the strategy has almost no negative reviews. This is probably directly related to the fact that the developers have released, albeit not completed, but quite a well-developed product that you can really play right now.

For example, the current version of the game Dune: Spice Wars includes four full-fledged factions, a ready-made system of politics, espionage and warfare. Accordingly, real-time strategy fans get the opportunity to study the features of each of the factions, enjoy the colorful landscapes of the virtual world and get their hands on political and military tactics – experience in using game mechanics will come in handy at release. At the same time, the authors of the project themselves said that at the initial stage of developing the game, they plan to focus on working with the audience – studio employees will evaluate gamers’ feedback, determining which aspects should be improved or expanded.

Shiro Games also said that after discussing all the main details with gamers, the developers will create a full-fledged update roadmap that will show in detail the team’s plan to work on the strategy. For example, the roadmap will accurately indicate the various improvements and specific dates for their launch. According to the staff at Shiro Games, the strategy will have to go through a string of upgrades and tweaks to get out of early access within 9-12 months.
