‘Duties will be imposed’ if there is no improvement in trade agreements, a White House financial adviser

US President Donald Trump has read some of the offers of trade agreements and thinks they need to improve, said today by Kevin Hasset, a White House Finance Advisor, adding that President Trump will proceed with the duties that has threatened to impose any other European countries. “Well these duties will be imposed if the president does not receive an agreement, which he would judge as good enough,” he told Hasset on the ABC television network “This Week”. “But as you know, the talks continue and we’ll see where the dust will sit.” Hasset said Trump’s threat to impose a 50% duty on products from Brazil reflects Trump’s irritation over the actions of the South American country, as well as her trade negotiations with the US.
