dYdX developers announced the launch of a beta version of the mainnet

The main network of the L1 blockchain dYdX Chain has entered the beta stage. This was stated by the project team.

The new version of the mainnet was launched on November 13. This happened after the dYdX community decided to move to the next stage of the mainnet. The deployment of the beta version of the blockchain was supported by 99% of voting participants.

Now dYdX users can trade assets within the network. However, there are no rewards for conducting such activities in the beta version. However, validators and stakers will accrue trading fees, dYdX officials said.

“Assuming the dYdX Chain protocol software is stable and has minimal bugs or issues, the dYdX governance community may offer to activate rewards and move forward with full trading,” the company said in a statement.

In September 2023, the project community approved the transfer of the governance token to the dYdX network. The alpha version of the mainnet was launched at the end of October. Before this, the developers published the open source code of the blockchain.

The mentioned processes are related to the update of the decentralized exchange dYdX to the fourth version (V4). During this operation, DEX will move from an Ethereum-based L2 network to its own standalone blockchain in the Cosmos ecosystem.
