Chris Hemsworth, Marvel royalty, walked the red carpet at Cannes Festival alongside the star of the show, Anya Taylor-Joy for the first time this Wednesday night (15) to mark the world premiere of director George Miller's highly anticipated film, “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga “.
Hemsworth, aka Thor, walked the carpet without a bow tie alongside his wife, Elsa Pataky, while Taylor-Joy wore an elegant strapless dress. American actress Faye Dunaway and Australian director Baz Luhrmann also attended the event.
The fifth film “Mad Max” hits the screens 45 years after Miller first presented his dystopian cinematic universe to the public and is very far from the original 1979 film starring Mel Gibson.
The focus of the most recent feature is in the origins of Furiosa the one-armed truck driver, played to great acclaim by Charlize Theron in the previous film, “Mad Max: Fury Road” 2015.
This time, Furiosa is played by Taylor-Joy, best known for “The Queen's Gambit” and “The Witch”, and faces off against Hemsworth as the bearded, biker warlord — Dementus.
