At the moment, the European Women’s Football Championship is taking place in the UK, which the developers from the well-known company Electronic Arts decided to take advantage of – for the first time in a long time (there were women’s teams and competitions in FIFA 2016, but in a simplified version), the existence of the FIFA sports simulator added the ability to compete among women. In fact, yesterday, July 20, the company officially released a trailer with FIFA 23 gameplay details, in which special emphasis was placed on this innovation – club teams from the top leagues of France and England will appear in the game, plus the Women’s World Cup 2023, held in Australia and New Zealand.
True, it should be noted right away that now the arsenal of women’s clubs is very limited – some clubs that occupy leading positions in the Champions League have not yet been represented. Probably, EA decided to look at the statistics, and next year already add more leagues or cover up the direction. But the list of updates outside of women’s football is very meager – for example, the developers have implemented the much-anticipated crossplay feature between platforms, but in a very strange format. The fact is that FIFA 23 can be played cooperatively between PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while PS4 and Xbox One owners were left behind – and this despite the fact that new consoles are in huge shortage.

In addition, it is worth noting that for the first time, developers from EA took pity on PC gamers by releasing the same next-gen version of the client on computers as on current-generation consoles. Actually, thanks to this, it was possible to implement crossplay between these platforms. Due to this, the PC version now supports the improved HyperMotion2 technology, which, according to the developers, provides incredible realism in the movements and faces of athletes. True, if you look at the trailer of the game, it becomes clear that since 2017 there have been no cardinal changes in the schedule.
And, in a traditional manner for themselves, the developers praised FIFA 23 for a more advanced turf (it is now erased), accurate acceleration, taking into account the characteristics of the athlete, more advanced free kicks and other little things that are almost impossible to notice. We can only hope that the developers are just saving up innovations for their next release, because FIFA 23 is the last game from EA with the FIFA label in the title. Next, the franchise will move to the name EA Sports FC and, probably, the company wants to make this rebrand as bright as possible.
FIFA 23 launches September 30 on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Seires X|S, and Google Stadia.
