EA Opens Investigation: One Of The Employees Is Probably Selling Cards In FIFA 21

For a very long time, Electronic Arts has been battling those who want to sell or buy cards for FIFA Ultimate Team for real money. This, firstly, hits the publisher’s own profits, and, secondly, due to the trading of cards for real money, FIFA in many countries can be recognized as a game of chance. But, as it recently turned out, not all Electronic Arts employees are against the card trade – one of the EA Sports employees apparently figured out how to get a raise in salary by selling rare football player cards for impressive money. At first Electronic Arts did not comment on this situation, but now the publisher has launched an internal investigation.

The publisher was literally forced to react to the news about the sale of cards by an employee of EA Sports – gamers from all over the world began to publish their investigations and images of purchased cards with the #EAGate tag. It soon turned out that these were not isolated cases, but a full-fledged business – a company employee, after receiving payment using the built-in game services, credited the user’s account with the cards he needed with legendary players, which can only be knocked out of sets, and even with an incredibly scant chance. Moreover, if desired, a gamer could order a whole set – it turned out to be cheaper.

For example, for 2500 dollars you can get a very rare card of Cristiano Ronaldo with the maximum available rating of 98 points – it is almost impossible to knock such out of the sets, this is great luck. Or a gamer for this amount can order a set of three cards, which are also quite rare. The advantage of this purchase is that it would be ten times more expensive to get similar cards by putting them into the game. And so the EA Sports employee on the day of payment credited the necessary cards to the EA ID, as if the player had knocked them out on his own.
