Earth Park: the mockumentary for the petition against global warming

What would we think of us and our way of treat the environment in a thousand years? What would we think ofpollution, waste of resources, excess emissions? We would probably define ourselves “Primitive”, and we certainly would not appreciate our way of relating to nature: a behavior that, slowly but surely, is leading to destruction of the planet. He tells it Earth Park, mockumentary of The Next Line which will be distributed on all social platforms on the occasion of Earth Day (April 22), and that we of VanityFair.it we show you a preview (you see it as the cover of this article).

Earth Park takes us to another planet in the year 3016, in a dystopian future in which human beings – after having caused their own destruction and that of the Earth – have been cloned to observe their behavior. The “clones” are Camilla Filippi, Claudia Gerini and Giorgio Marchesi: they play absurd characters (but not too much), completely indifferent to natural beauty, who mistreat it by burning and dirtying a wonderful park – that of Casali del Pino, near Rome, where the video was shot thanks to the support of the owner Ilaria Venturini Fendi – while in the meantime from his laboratory Professor Dario Bressanini, chemist and scientific popularizer, observes their behavior by commenting on their madness.

COUNTRYSIDE
An ironic but absolutely realistic video
, turned to remind us that the power of making the world a better place is in our hands e that now we can also do our part by participating in one petition crucial for the future of the planet. All it takes is a signature its www.stopglobalwarming.eu, the site of the European campaign against global warming promoted by Marco Cappato, activist, treasurer ofLuca Coscioni Association and founder of the European citizens’ movement on sustainable development Eumans. The campaign was launched to force the European Commission to discuss a proposal for theintroduction of legislation that discourages the consumption of fossil fuels taxing them, and thus encouraging energy saving and the use of renewables while taxing work.

WHY PARTICIPATE (NOW)
A proposal for sustainable development supported by 27 Nobel laureates, is the only formal initiative that, through the collection of signatures, aims to do something concrete against global warming. Now that we write it counts 54 thousand subscriptions – including personalities from the institutional world such as Mogens Lykketoft, president of the UN Assembly at the time of the Paris Accords and many many personalities from the world of science, culture and entertainment, from Oliviero a Toscani to climatologist Luca Mercalli, and then among the many Gabriele Salvatores, Kasia Smutniak, Pif, Fedez – but to be brought to the attention of the European Commission one million signatures must be reached by 22 July: many are those provided by theEuropean Citizens Initiative, an instrument of direct democracy that allows us to be an active part of the Union by asking the Commission to propose new legislative acts.

“27 Nobel laureates – says Marco Cappato – believe that taxing emissions, which are mainly responsible for raising the global average temperature, to discourage them, is an essential measure to combat climate change and its impact on ecosystems underwater and land. The treasury obtained from taxation should then be used to lighten the tax burden on workers and to finance the green transition. On the occasion of Earth Day, all European citizens of age are invited to sign the proposal on the website www.stopglobalwarming.eu ».

So it’s time to do our part, and (also) this video reminds us of that. “We have responded positively and with enthusiasm to Marco Cappato’s appeal to create a disruptive campaign for Stop Global Warming”, he declares Cristian Micheletti, creative and strategic director and founder of The Next Line company together with LUZ srl, B Corp Agency specialized in author’s stories. “We are very sensitive to the theme and we greatly esteem Marco’s activity, moreover that we have been left with ample creative freedom to express the uniqueness of the dramaturgical story that distinguishes the works of The Next Line”.
