Earthquake in Turkey – Lekkas: They search with their hands in the debris for their own

People in the disaster-hit area are in despair earthquakes in Turkey and Syria in the early hours of Monday, as a result thousands dead and wounded.

The president of OASP Efthimis Lekkaswho is with the Greek rescue mission, described to ERT shocking images from the wreckage. There are demolished buildings everywhere. “I estimate that there may be more than ten people in the ruins, (in the specific building that has been destroyed) who are trapped. However, they have survival potential,” Mr. Lekkas told ERT.

People are desperate, so they are constantly asking for help. “We have to set priorities,” said Mr. Lekkas, while adding: “Emak and EKAV deserve warm congratulations, because these people, while they had one goal”, i.e. they were trying to free a person, very quickly and effectively “shared” , when they realized that they can help elsewhere. “They deserve everyone’s respect and admiration!”
