EasyJet calls on Britain to put more countries on its “green list”

“It is unlikely that this year will be another lost summer season”, stressed on Wednesday (26/5) its CEO EasyJet Johann Ludgren, noting that he does not expect the mutated strain of the new coronavirus first identified in India to be destroyed this summer.

Johann Ludgren also called on Britain to put more countries in the her green travel list in its next revision on 7 June.

«I do not believe that the prospects are that due to the Indian variant it will be ruined in the summerSaid Johann Ludgren at an online industry event broadcast by the Athens News Agency.

The most recent indications are that vaccines are effective against the Indian variant of the new coronavirus, he pointed out and warned of the impact on airlines if Britain continues to restrict travel.

«I do not believe that airlines in Britain as an industry will be able to withstand another lost summer without serious consequences“, he said.

“The government must be prepared and prepared to step up its efforts to protect this industry, and it must do so because it is its own constraints that have made it impossible for the industry to function,” he said.
