Popular marketplace eBay announced that starting May 11, users can buy and sell Collectible Tokens (NFT) on the platform.
The NFT sale was accessed by “eBay-compliant sellers”, and any user can buy tokens. The payment is made in USD, while most other platforms suggest using ETH.
Interestingly, at the moment, most of the NFTs presented on the platform are based on the WAX blockchain, so sellers offer buyers to create a wallet of this network to receive tokens.
Jordan Sweetnam, senior vice president and manager of North America for eBay, said that the platform’s support for NFT is only part of the company’s broader plan:
“In the coming months, eBay will add new features to its platform, including blockchain collectibles.”
Earlier it was reported that the marketplace is considering the possibility of supporting cryptocurrency payments for the sale of goods on its platform.
