EBay prohibits erotica with a large margin

Everyone has their own definition of what counts as “sexually explicit.” It is eBay’s policy to refer to such content as “the display of any part of the male or female genitals, anus, or female breast where the areola or nipple is visible.” In addition, materials are prohibited if the specified body parts are “covered with transparent material or restricted by tight clothing”. Politics also refers to “nudity” as “people engaging in sexual intercourse or activities.”

Separately, it is noted that “most adult-only items are prohibited,” including “sexually explicit anime, comics, books, films, animation, manga, hentai, yaoi.” Even “Game of Thrones” can be summed up under this definition.

However, it is eBay’s policy to exclude erotic magazines such as Playboy, Playgirl, Mayfair and Penthouse. Quality images sold in the “Art” section will also be allowed, provided the postures are “acceptable” and there is no intercourse. By and large, everything is left to the discretion of eBay moderators, since many classic paintings could theoretically fall under the ban.

At the same time, the sale of sex toys in unopened packages will continue to be allowed, provided that the packaging is not sexually explicit.
