Eclipse Labs announced on social media X that Vijay Chetty will now take over this position. Previously, he served as Chief Development Officer for Eclipse, held leadership positions at Uniswap Labs, dYdX Trading and Ripple Labs, and worked in investment management at BlackRock.
Somani said he will temporarily stop representing the company publicly because serious allegations have been made against him. Somani denies them and claims he has never sexually assaulted any woman. He is willing to take all necessary measures to protect himself and clear his reputation.
In March, Eclipse Labs completed a Series A funding round, raising approximately $50 million from venture capital firms Hack VC and Placeholder. Hack VC management expressed concern after learning of the allegations against the Eclipse founder. According to the Hack VC team, they are glad to see that Somani caved in and resigned to calm the situation.
“Hack VC will not tolerate sexual harassment or misconduct of any kind. That's why we hold the companies we invest in to the same high standards. The alleged behavior in question is unacceptable, period.” stated Hack VC.
