The Ministry of Economy is preparing an ordinance to allow the release of an amount of approximately R$ 6 billion foreseen for this year. In recent weeks, members of the allied base have complained to the Planalto Palace that resources provided for in the rapporteur’s amendments have not yet been committed.
According to reports made to CNN Brasil, government congressmen even informed the political articulation that the non-release of resources could compromise the vote on government agendas.
To allow the release of resources, the Ministry of Economy must publish an ordinance extending the deadline for the commitment of resources.
The current rule required that the amount be committed until last Friday (10) so that it could be released this year, which was not done.
According to members of the economic team, the extension of the term is customary and is usually carried out every year.
This year, however, due to uncertainties about the validity of the rapporteur’s amendments, there was a delay in the commitment process, which generated criticism from the allied base.
Most of the resources, according to party leaders, are related to health care spending.
Starting this Tuesday (14), the virtual plenary of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) will analyze a precautionary measure on the end of the suspension of the rapporteur’s amendments.
As had already been determined at the outset, Minister Rosa Weber voted in favor of the execution of these resources “in view of the risk of damage that the suspension of budget execution brings to the provision of essential services to the community”.
For next year’s budget, the forecast is to allocate an amount of approximately R$ 16 billion in amendments by the rapporteur.
