Ecorodovias purchased the highways in Northwest lot this Thursday (15), for R$ 1.236 billion, in an auction held at the headquarters of B3 , in Sao Paulo. The grant amount is BRL 7,609,284.79, and, therefore, the winning proposal had a premium of 16,151.20%
The Northwest Lot involves stretches of five São Paulo highways. In all, there are 600 kilometers of road that pass through the regions of São José do Rio Preto, Araraquara, Barretos, São Carlos and most of Washington Luís (SP-310).
The winning concessionaire will be in charge of the stretch for 30 years, being responsible for the operation, conservation, maintenance and carrying out the necessary investments for the exploration of the road system. The forecast is that approximately R$ 10 billion will be invested during the concession period.
The investments planned for the Northwest Lot highways will be used for duplication of 122 km of roads, implementation of a third lane, shoulders, bike paths, side roads, as well as for operational and conservation improvements.
The Northwest Lot represents the 5th stage of the Concessions Program of the State of São Paulo. This Thursday’s auction takes place after the São Paulo government has unforeseen in its concession program, such as the rescheduling of the North Rodoanel concession for 2023.
“This program has developed since its inception and over the years has built up great regulatory credibility and respect for signed contracts. One of the novelties of this lot is the discount for frequent users, which seeks a tariff policy that meets the needs of people who use the system frequently, in addition to the clear objective of being a zero carbon system”, said Daniel Gabrilli de Godoy, partner of Orizzo Marques Advogados.
