Adolf Massia, known for the nickname “Fito” and regarded as the main drug trafficker in Ecuador, accepted his extradition to the United States on Friday, where he faces charges of trafficking in cocaine and weapons, according to a statement by the judiciary. Fito, one of the most dangerous criminals in the country, was arrested in late June in his hometown, the city of Manda, 350 kilometers south of the capital Kito, after a year and a half he escaped after his escape from a high security prison. He was able to escape January 2024 from the huge prison of Guyakil, where he was sentenced to 34 years in prison for participation in organized crime, drug trafficking and murders since 2011.
