A small, big paradise illuminates the windows and the interior of the flagship store Marellain Corso Vittorio Emanuele, in the heart of Milan, to light up the evenings of this week with positivity Design Week never so crowded with events. Mario VirgaIn a riot of colors and flowers that illuminate the shop windows and attract passers-by, in his installation Eden Unveiled, accessible to the public until April 21stPellegrino also inserted some words, the ones he considered most correct: they are Strength, Harmony, Love, Delicacy, Calm, Lightness, Energy and Confidence. In a Milan that has never been so frenetic (design, in addition to being an opportunity to meet, is one of the most important businesses in the city), the artist has the courage to invoke “Calma”: this particularly struck us, and we asked him the meaning. «It's my invitation to pay proper attention to everything. Otherwise everything loses value”, he replies. And therefore – he adds – the challenge for today's artists is entirely played out here: «Developing a work capable of capturing the attention of the public, even the most distracted one, in places that are different from museums, and then holding it, developing a curiosity, an interest. Light, my main communication tool, helps: it attracts us and leads us in a fantasy world. In this work of mine I wanted to launch a message of positivity».

Struck “by the range of colors and the soft world of the Marella shop”, Domenico Pellegrino delves into another of his interests in the installation, that of nature and for the botanyrevealing to us an Eden full of light that is a tribute to Spring, to rebirth, to regeneration. The cloth with Zephyr, the god of the wind, takes away what weighs us down, what blocks us and leaves only the beautiful: «I am a son of my landI was nourished by the history and mythology of an island that lies in the middle of the Mediterranean, I chose to live and have my studio in Palermo always, when the city was not yet so open to artists, when there were many problems. We are a land full of enigmas, an island with Etna underfoot: everything in Sicily stimulates me. This is what happened with the illuminations, which I chose to enhance an ancient tradition that was being lost”, says Pellegrini who dedicated his land Opera Sicilya work presented just ten years ago at Furniture expo of Milan and became very successful with the public also for its subsequent installation, on the seabed of the Mediterranean.

Today, when his lights have become real sculptures, Domenico Pellegrino's work for Marella becomes a warning, a stimulus to live this season to the full of the year, to let yourself be led by hope that another Eden is, in fact, possible.
