Edge browser will be loaded with add-ons: speed tester, currency converter and CALCULATOR

Microsoft continues to develop the Edge browser, this time the developers have planned for August the release of three utilities built into the browser at once: a speed tester, a currency converter and … a calculator. This news is perceived ambiguously, because if a conditional connection speed meter can be really useful in a web browser, then a calculator preinstalled on any device (except for the iPad, of course) and available in any search engine can turn out to be an extremely unnecessary tool.

Users of the Canary build can already test the innovations in Edge 105: in addition to the additions described above, the new version of the browser offers a world clock, a dictionary and a translator. It remains unclear how Edge will be perceived by users with the advent of even more add-ons (turning into an Opera-style harvester application) and how these built-in utilities will affect resource consumption. However, it is hardly worth worrying about the latter – they seem extremely lightweight.
