Over the summer, Microsoft added a lot of features to its Edge browser that are not entirely native to the browser, such as a built-in calculator and currency converter. Users were ambivalent about these innovations, as they overly “inflated” the browser with not the most necessary options. Now Microsoft has added a rather useful innovation to the Edge for Android test version – blocking advertising videos on sites like YouTube. This is reported by gHacks.
The new feature is called Edge Block Video Ads and is available in the developer menu. To activate it, you need to install the latest Canary build of the browser, follow the path edge://flagstype “video” in the search and set the value to “Enabled” for the new function.
The new option has become part of the content blocker based on Adblock Plus.
