On a campaign agenda in the city of São Carlos, in the interior of São Paulo, federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL) discussed and cursed the former secretary of health after being charged for an ambulance to the municipality.
Marcos Palermo (MDB), who left office in March to run for a seat in the Chamber of Deputies, learned that his former ally would be in the region and decided to demand a promise that the congressman would have made last year.
“There is a video where you promised an ambulance for us”, said the former secretary.
Eduardo Bolsonaro asked to watch that recording. But, before the material was shown, a man who was in the deputy’s group dropped the cell phone that was with Palermo on the floor.
The former secretary, known for having carried out a similar charge to also federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL), insisted on the matter while Eduardo Bolsonaro was talking to supporters.
“Thank you for the ten thousand votes you had here”, provoked Palermo, referring to the 2018 elections.
THE CNN , Marcos Palermo said that, following the episode, he was pushed by a security guard of the parliamentarian and decided to leave. He also said that he had to go to an Emergency Care Unit because of knee pain, supposedly after receiving a push. Palermo also reported having registered the case at a police station in the region.
wanted by CNN , the Municipality of São Carlos reported that it has two advanced support ambulances, one in operation and the other in reserve. Also according to the city of São Carlos, the purchase of another vehicle would be in the bidding phase. According to the administration of the municipality, the topic was never discussed with deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro.
Already Marcos Palermo explained that currently the municipality has only one vehicle that offers advanced support for the transport of patients in serious condition. The lack of the vehicle would have led, at the time, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) team to seek the intermediation of deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro to solve the problem.
In a video where the CNN had access, recorded in June of last year, Eduardo Bolsonaro appears with a document signed by the then coordinator of the SAMU of São Carlos, saying that he will “proceed with this request for an ambulance to renew the fleet”.
Eduardo Bolsonaro says he will try “initially via the Ministry of Health”.
“If I have the opportunity for extra credits or, at worst, towards the end of the year, through our parliamentary amendments in October, I will make this destination for you”, he said in the video.
THE CNN contacted deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro in search of a current position on the subject, but received no response.
